Scotland Turns Blue!

Scottish Conservatives have taken control of South Ayrshire County Council, following the resignation of the Labour Leader of the council.

"Councillor Gibson MacDonald, Leader of the Conservative Group since 1996, was chosen as the Council Leader and Councillor Robin Reid was appointed to the role of Deputy Leader following a 15-14 vote."

South Ayrshire becomes the first Conservative controlled Scottish Council since the reorganisation into unitary authorities more than a decade ago in 1995.
